London hospitals with the latest medical equipment

Last year HCA spent more than £70m on new equipment and facilities for our hospitals and medical centres in London. From the latest diagnostic equipment such as PET CT scanners and powerful new generation MRI scanners to new minimally-invasive surgical equipment such as Gamma Knife radiosurgery and da Vinci Robotically Assisted Prostatectomy.

In October 2008 we will become the first UK hospital to have the latest CyberKnife treatment for complex tumours of the spine, brain and other difficult to reach areas.

Our operating theatres are equipped to high specifications, including ultra-clean ventilation systems and touch panel screens. Some theatres are now fitted with media bridge technology, enabling our surgeons to transmit live images to sister hospitals around the world as part of a programme of continuing professional development.

With the integration of our new IT infrastructure, the speed and accuracy of patient data provides unmatched levels of medical care and safety and your medical team can instantly review patient diagnostic images and records online from any of our hospitals and clinics around London.

However serious your condition might be, if you are one of our patients then it is very unlikely that you would need to be transferred to another hospital for treatment or care that cannot be provided by us.

A full list of our latest treatments and therapies is available in our new drugs and procedures guide.
